Dr. Emmanuel Tanui is a specialist pharmacist and Kenya’s National AMR Focal Point at the Kenya National Public Health Institute. He has more than ten years of experience strengthening public health systems through a One Health approach.
National AMR coordination
He works with healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers and stakeholders across the One Health sectors to develop and implement Kenya’s response to antimicrobial resistance. His work connects AMR policy with the health systems needed to put it into practice.
National Action Plan 2023–2027
Dr. Tanui led the development, launch and implementation of Kenya’s National Action Plan on AMR 2023–2027. He supports coordinated action to prevent and contain AMR and strengthen implementation at all levels.
